Introduction v Conclusion

There is an important difference between introductions and conclusions: one synthesises deeper meaning, the other doesn’t. Synthesising new and deeper meaning occurs in the conclusion and involves you reflecting on the intentions of the author. This is not the function of an introduction. An introduction introduces the text and the question and highlights the main points to be adressed in the main body of the essay. Lets look at a table which illustrates the structural differences between the two and annotate an example so we can clear see what this looks like in practice.

  • Using your knowledge of Introductions and conclusions, please write a conclusion for the the question you planned for hmk.
